RE: Transparency by Warren Bennis, Daniel Goleman, James O'Toole |Book Brief

"Transparency" appears to be a very timely book given our currrent financial crisis. Blame has been placed on the Republican administration and the CEOs of the failing corporations. While it will be important to dissect the causes, it is presently more important to resolve and correct this situation. The truth must be heard and as these authors acknowledge transparency must start with leadership. As they point out, although 2/3 of employees witness unethical behavior, only 1/3 of employees report it. In this digital age where business moves "faster than the speed of light," transparency is an obligation that needs to be cultivated by leadership and employees.
