MIDI/TATA Air Car - will come to fruition

Guy Negre , the designer and inventor is I believe at the cusp of getting this project completed. With the new onboard heater it should be not more than a year and a little more financing from India's TATAs to become a reality.

I like the Reva a lot better. but with what others have commented, that might be a big jump for the company, but not a big splash in sales.

cheap used cars

I think the winning car is going to be the Air Car which is in collaboration with Guy Negre and funded by TATAs. The car MDI/TATA car runs on compressed air.Compressed air is not a drain on resources like electricity . Electricity just adds to an electric grids woes and is not really a truly green solution.

I see the NANOs later versions outfitted with compressed air engines and technology from the AIR CAR.

More info can be found here on the MDI/TATA development.
http://www.mdi.lu/english/

I love his statement near the end. "In a few decades, zero emissions will be the cost of entry into the automotive market."

I think that with all of the cooperative agreements that Renault-Nissan is making with city governments and energy companies their goal of EVs making up 10% of automotive sales by 2020 is very reachable. Good for Nissan for thinking forward.

Follow me on twitter www.twitter.com/ZEMobility

Is Graydon Reitz smoking crack? Ford's car's are as reliable as honda or Toyota..Lets see the numbers! I've owned fords that are clanky, rusty pieces of crap. They use inferior metals on the bottom of all their cars. Rusty break lines & e-cables etc.. the list goes on. American plastic crap interiors. I've put 165k on a 4runner that did not give me one issue but routine maintainance, not one! 2 Nissan Maximas that were great until 100k then Nissan's suspensions fall apart. Same thing happen to two 300zx's and a pathfinder. I have a 03' Tundra now w/ 115k on it and it will put any f-1****** under. Wake up Reitz and give us americans a car that can go 100k before looking at the motor. Can put 250k on the car and motor still be strong. How about the fit and finish of the interior? Even though Dodge is the worst plain, plastic crap Ford is not far behind. Why can't an American car be 10 years old and look like the bottom of a Honda or Toyota? Figure that out and then you can start to make some statements about quality. Until then why don't you grab a coffee and sit in at Honda & Toyota's quality meeting's...."there are no bad car's out there" You should be fired for being an idiot w/ that statement! A Focus better then any Toyota car period! Lets see how many Fusions are on the road in 5 years.

?Good article. As the market opens up, it will be interesting to see how many of the various applications within a vehicle will be powered by, or assisted by, an ultracapacitor. With the NOx emission reductions, increase in fuel efficiency and high reliability, ultracapacitors are a great fit.

Chad Hall, COO ?
