  You know who took your lunch. Protect yourself.

  Get one of those retro metal lunch boxes with a clasp and a place for a little lock. You can even use your old Princess Leia lunchbox. Or...there's research that shows people are more honest when they're being watched...by a portrait, or even a stylized pair of eyes. Put a humorous caption/tagline under it if you want. "If you take my lunch, I'll know." or "I see everything you do." (This only works on people with a conscience.) If it happens despite this, make a lunch with a sublethal amount of really REALLY hot red pepper- the Hispanic section of my supermarket has Bahia, and a dusting of that stuff is spicy. Visible amounts are painful...
  
  But the reality is, you know who took your lunch. It's the person with the sense of entitlement, who ignores or uses other people in your office. It's likely either a Narcissist or a psychopath (about 3% of the population, and not all of them are serial killers. Some of them are corporate sharks.) If they're willing to take your lunch, that's not all they're willing to take. Protect yourself emotionally. Work with your friends to neutralize the thief and guard each others backs.
