Southwest Increases Denver Flights for Third Time in a Month

    The view from DEN

Frustration with UAL, when Denver was United's fortress hub, really helped the new Frontier get a leg up, and I think that's true of Southwest as well. During the Kelleher era, they resisted entering the Denver market, saying the landing fees at DIA were too high.

Southwest has been promoting its nonstop service with that uber-annoying "Don't Like Stopping?" ad with the elevator woman. Makes no sense because as a hub for two other carriers, Denver has tons of nonstops already. It's not exactly a unique selling proposition for Southwest.

I still reflexively check UAL first, even though other options exist and are cheaper, I don't fly enough to care about Mileage Plus miles anymore. Old habits are hard to break.
