    Web nostalgia

There should be some sort of formula governing nostalgia: The Pace of Change/It's Impact on People's Lives and Careers = Nostalgia Quotient. If trends and business fade quickly but they were important personally or historically, recalling them is vital, even if it was only five or ten years ago. My favorite from ten years ago was when the young internet bucks started calling the print publishing business "the dead trees business". There was truth in what they said, but most of the major magazine brands of that period have outlasted the period's major internet brands.

Your point about the speedup of time and the way it affects our sense of nostalgia is spot-on, Moose!
