  Prepare for day 1. Prepare for your first 100 days. Develop a strategic agenda, not a strategic plan. Talk to clients, lower level managers, and suppliers. Figure out what you need to preserve and what you need to discard.

  "Manage Time Don???t get bogged down in the weeds." - In other words the BIG picture! And not to forget vision! As I have read in one of my many leadership books ... When you step out into the ocean you don't keep an one on the shore (the business) because you know where it is and what's going on. You keep you eye out to sea so that the waves coming in don't knock you over! Or in other words, don't turn you back to the incoming waves!
  
  "Loyalty is Earned It may be uncomfortable, but all eyes are on you." - Trust is a two way street. As leader, one must lead by example and the same is with trust. The leader must TRUST the employees FIRST before they can grow to trust the leader.
  
  "Forget Perfection Ego may have helped you get the top job, but it won???t help you keep it." - I know a few whos egos can't fit through the door! As leaders, you are not god-like! And if the leader plays 'king of the mountain' then there are plenty of people willing to bring him/her down! One of the jobs a leader has to to bring up and grow other leaders.

  Leadership is leadership. You are a natural leader or a false god..case closed. You can only teach leadership to someone destined to lead. Everyone else will be called managers. And there is a world of difference between the two.
