    Predictably Irrational is phenomenal

I stumbled across Dan's book a few weeks ago and was fascinated by it. It's a phenomenal look at the ways and reasons that competent intelligent people do insensible things.

If you get a chance, pick it up. The lessons involved aren't just about economics, but cover everything from why actions shift draatically under different pressures, how marketing and advertising work, why we make mistakes when we're not cool, calm and collected and ideas for predicting those mistakes where we can and put controls in place where we know we're going to be making the same mistake repeatedly.

I highly recommend this book for managers, markters, and anyone who wants to work with people in a constructive or motivating way.
