    Noth that simple

In reality nobody practice any of theese leadership styles. In real life experienced people combine some or all of theese traits in different situations. That said people usually have a dominant trait that will apply in most cases.

RE: Poll: What Leadership Style Do You Prefer?

I espouse to be a leader like Jay Hall PhD. discovered in the 80's and named the Achieving Manager. This leader operates from a positive prophecy of employee potential, works to involve employees in work related decisions, uses self disclosure and feedback for an open communication style, shares power,is properly motivated toward persoanl and organizational success and lastly, demonstrates a style that has a high regard for people and performance.
    Thanks for asking the question.

RE: Poll: What Leadership Style Do You Prefer?

Well first of all I find it interesting that you people left out a very important leadership role that is taught in many business management and Leadership Principals classes. Servant style leadership may not be the most popular because it means being a leader from the front and doing what you expect your team to do, but it's very motivational to the team members. Look at W. Clement Stone of Combined Insurance Company, or Sam Walton of Walmart.

Leadership is not that simple. Personally, I think we have to use each style above a little if we want to be a successful leader. Sometimes you need to adjust to fit the needs of the team; you need to be the example (waht I do and not who I am); and have to focus on how to interact with your subordinates because each one will react on different ways at the same situation. The approach used for one may not be the best for another.

I believe that successful leaders have to use more than one style depending on the situation and the team members. However, the best leaders are those who understand the people they are leading.
