Banana infestation
I worked with someone who HATED bananas. He went on vacation for a week, and the Friday before he returned, his coworkers took about 20 bananas and banana peels and strung them from the ceiling over his cube. That whole wing of the building (it was a small building) smelled like bananas for a week. I can't imagine what the cleaning folks thought when they came in that weekend.

Wrap party: As an avid cyclist I bike to work daily. When I was at Yahoo in Burbank, one of my coworkers was so inspired by my example that he decided to bike to work himself... once. Apparently the effort was too much, so he got a ride home with someone that evening.
So his bike sat down in the parking lot for a week until some of his office mates gave it the Saran Wrap treatment. They had it so tightly wrapped up and bound with "Do You Yahoo?" stickers it took him an hour to unravel it... once he got around to it a week later. -

I used to get a lot of samples from vendors, usually sent in boxes full of foam packing peanuts (which brings me give a little advise to you...no matter what they say...they're not anti-static at all)...the great thing about foam packing peanuts (specially the little-tiny-spheres kind)is that they are quite talented....they not only fill boxes.....they can fill drawers too...if this is not evilish enough for you what about kidnapping your neighbours plant? the more leaves it has the more fun you'll have as they're great "proofs of life", if you feel like creating a whole scenario open a quick free e-mail account from which you can send ransom e-mails (you can name the account with the actual name of the plant and the last name of the victim -like poinsetia jones-)and you can even take pictures of the plant with your phone in an unrecognizable background and attach them to the mails!!! Don't forget to ask a couple of colleagues to create divertions and fake leads.

Possessed CD Rom
Those of us with Admin rights to other users PC's can have much fun with particularly 'gullable' co-workers. Especially if you are the first one thye will call to report a CD Rom that just seems to open for no apparant reason.
A co-admin and I pulled this off and made it last for days until we just couldn't stand it any more and deliberately got caught.
To this day, when I see this person I ask how their CD Rom is doing.......priceless

I once worked with a guy who always got drunk at lunch and insisted it didn't affect his performance. So we set his default text in Word to have the 'shimmer' character effect - it took him three days to finally ask IT what was wrong!

Best Prank for an Environmental office
We set up my Flight Chief one April Fool's Day by having the front gate guard (a friend of someone) call him and say 10 cars just came through the gate, full of EPA and state regulators and he was giving him a head's up. Then the secretary put all the phones on hold so he couldn't call out (and spill the beans). So he's freaking out because he can't call and notify any higher ups, when my supervisor walks in and hands him a leave slip, saying daycare just called and her son is running a 104 fever and she has to leave immediately. He totally freaks, saying she can't leave, inspectors are coming and more of us come into the office....he's cursing at the busy phones....and finally everyone is in the office and says "April Fools".
The best part was that he walked around the entire rest of the day asking people if it really was a joke, were there really no inspectors on site, and so on. He was a wreck!!! It was too funny!! -

My co-workers provided a special Office birthday celebration that included a used toilet in my cube. The toilet was salvaged from a contractor and included a plant on the back, a can of Lysol, and a classic Pennyslvania contour rug and toilet seat cover. And they didn't forget the toilet paper...it was marked, sheet by sheet, with the number 48!

How typical that millennium people would believe that this stupidity is remotely fun. What a waste of human effort to embarrass someone. How green is this whole process?

I always got to work early and stole everyone's chairs! I'd put them outside. Of course I got rid of mine too, and just said "the chairs wern't here, when I came in!" Ahhh, memories! I also rearranged desks and took all the pens/pencils! Ha, Ha! That was fun!

Scotch tape over the mic of the phone receiver. They'll be screaming and no one will hear them.

Office Prank
How about finding a co-worker who isn't very computer savvy, and net-sending them fake pop-up messages from IT that request he/she reboot his computer? This would be particularly great if the "victim" gets really vocal when under stress.

Office Prank
A friend of mine returned from vacation to find that the front legs of her chair were rubber band chained to the back legs of her desk. When she pulled out the chair, it just rolled back under the desk.

Scotch tape mouse
A fast and easy prank is to put scotch tape under the optical sensor in the mouse. The mouse will still work, but not very well, guaranteed to drive the user insane!
