RE: Some Simple Language About the Financial Crisis
Thanks, Jon, for those resources. It is very
true that the U.S. government, and even the
media, has been using several more "big words"
and economic back stepping jargon than is necessary to explain the root causes of the
market problems we currently face. It has
gotten so bad, in fact, that I have felt compelled to begin writing a short book that
puts things into simple and strait talk
perspectives. -

A REAL GEM! THANK YOU!
Jon, thank you so much for this jewel! i listened to it in its entirety --- i even paused it several times and took notes! really, not that i am mentally slow, but for someone like me who was taught Shakespeare and rhetoric, a lot of this stuff is new to me (but so, so interesting!).
the show was very well done, educational, and thought-provoking, to say the least. it would be nice if more people actually took the time to educate themselves on what exactly is happening and HOW it happened, rather than be quick to make sweeping generalizations and loaded judgments. all in all, if more people listened to this, in its entirety, they would be bitten by the reality that neither McCain (or Bush for that matter!) had anything to do with this --- this goes way back to 1998 and the CLINTON ADMINISTRATION! Bush wasn't even President then! who would have thought??? i guess people just want to believe what they want to believe --- ignorance is bliss, especially when it is used to "support your cause" per se (i.e., Republicans this, Republicans that, etc.). interesting to note that Phil Gramm actually warned them way back in 1998 (as did others) that the unregulated credit-default swaps were going to ultimately be toxic to the nation.... who would have thought?? knowledge is power!
this is definitely a keeper! thanks!
