Banquet Etiquette
The banquet is finally over when the fruit trays come out, practice using chopsticks before you go, they will appreciate your efforts. If you don't want to participate in the toasts ( usually Scotch) decline from the very beginning, once you start it is rude to decline!

Go Northeast - Big business and no competition.
Shenyang - Liaoning Province
Hello, I'm Neill Newton. I am the Director and Partner with two Chinese with CPA credentials from the West. We help foreign firms cross the China bridge - and make the unclear path much clearer. Your articles are correct, but the reality is even more complex. But, an even bigger decision is to know WHERE in China to establish. Even Chinese firms are moving out of Shenzhen and Shanghai - too expensive now for labor, rentals, overheads ... and time to do things. Much cheaper, faster and easier here in Shenyang (Olympic soccer city). Since green light in 2003, Mao's old Northeast industrial base is now the fastest growing region on the planet, at 14% pa. RE: Seven Rules for Closing a Deal in China
This is a very nice and correct overview of how the things are in China. As an American teaching business at the University level here, my students are starting companies and I have learned much from them as a foreign teacher and have been able to help them. It is a great place but you have to be culturally sensitive and aware of everything that is happening. I smile and laugh a lot, but also show respect and ability. I have been offered opportunities here whenever I want to participate.

RE: Seven Rules for Closing a Deal in China
About the Banking Etiquette: choose for the white wine and not for hard liquor, that will help you when there a lot of toats. Also don't drop your chopsticks, as this will indicate bad luck.
