Outsourcing to offshore locations
There are still a number of other reasons to look to outsourcings especially in countries with a labor pool of English speaking workers like the Philippines. Call centers in the US still have high attrition rates. The production capabilities of offshore agent is also catching up with US based centers. New training facilities and just the boom of call center business in general is attracting more money in early development of the skills of agents. The Philippines is winning a dialect battle to attract more American companies wanting to outsource inbound and outbound telemarketing services. This outsource trend is actually helping the US economy grow by giving American companies an emerging market place to grow. An entirely new labor force is being created and that labor force needs to be fed, entertained, clothed, etc. Macdonald's, Starbucks, Apple are seeing a new market place to sell their products. However outsourcing upper management could create a counter productive trend in the US. A top Indian firm Infosys reinvests $65.00 per $1000 in revenue back to employee training. IBM reinvests $6.50 back to employee training.
