iPod Touch with a Keyboard
How 'bout an iPod Touch with a small keyboard? Small, portable, capable, nimble (for what it does). Isn't that what the whole UMPC movement is about? I like the idea, but I agree with you, that they haven't hit the bullseye yet.

Probably won't be long...
Makes sense to me. The iPhone/touch are already fantastic for Web browsing, e-mail, documents, etc. Add a keyboard and you're good to go! In fact, there was a folding Bluetooth keyboard for PDAs a while back... just needs iPhone drivers!

eee PC well worth it
My wife picked up an eee PC with linux on it, and I have been very happy with it so far. My only gripe has been the lack of libraries that are pre-built for Asus' customized Xandros install, but that's just me being lazy. I'm not surprised your demo unit was slow - Vista's a resource hog. I'd recommend trying a Linux unit, and see if it performs better (I'm guessing it probably will).

I like the mini's and Linux is faster
I agree, my Asus is great not for long papers or business reports great for on the go presentations and the like. You can't bet Linux or open office those guys are the best.

You should have gone with the SLED version. VISTA on a box like this is molasses on a plutoid.

RE: Mini-Review: HP 2133 Mini-Note PC
I just love the idea of Mac Book Air, simple but almost nobody thought of it before!
We don't need a tiny and compromised laptop with cluttered keyboard and uselessly shrunk display.
We all carry briefcases so it is at least as big as an A4 page but they are usually thin, so all we need is a THIN laptop.
Tiny laptops are usually thick which makes them not fitting in nice and stylish briefcases, not to mention the charger!
A thin laptop means we can have the luxury of a full sized keyboard and a decent display with an ultra portable laptop that so far Mac Book Air is one of the few offering such thing.
Well, performance might be an issue (like any other ultra portable) but frankly Air satisfies what it is designed for especially with Mac OS Snow Leopard coming it will have even a better performance -

Ever try to use a "fullsize" notebook in economy class when the person in front of you reclines their seat? This is one possible explanation why the class is popular
