    Screenshot app

For quick screenshots, I install MWSnap (http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html). It's free, and hasn't been updated since 2002, but I've never run into an issue with it and I've used it since 2004 or so. It's got a very small footprint and loads fast. It doesn't do nice scrolling screenshots or funky edge effects like Snag-It, but usually I don't need that.

It is better than the alternative

On my nice laptop I have to use Function+Alt+Shift+Insert(prt scrn).

    I prefer not.

I suppose if you're not running Vista then Launchy is a good idea.

But in Vista all I have to do is hit the Windows key, type Exc and enter. Badda-bing, Badda-boom!
