    In-Flight Tech Etiquette

Picture this: 200 people locked in a small narrow room together for hours... babies crying & non-stop yackers getting louder & louder.

Now add: movie audio, ipod audio, pc-game audio, and the ever-obnoxious 'one-half-of-a-cell-phone-conversation' (way more information than anyone really wants to know and way louder than anyone ever wants it to be - not to mention the repetition of the same points over and over due to poor connections and people trying to talk on top of each other.) I'm still trying to figure out an effective way to get the 'non-stop yackers' to knock it off... (babies usually stop crying after a few minutes.)

If we could just get video-conferencing perfected.

RE: Business Hacks Poll: In-Flight Tech Etiquette

I live in China - have done for over 10 years. If you don't know how loud the Chinese are then I'll tell you it makes the term "loud American" or "loud Aussie" sound exaggerated. However, when the Chinese get on their mobile phones, forget it!! It's as if they were talking through tin cans and string. No manners, no etiquette - a plane load of Chinese with phones would be the epitomy of a flight from hell!

RE: Business Hacks Poll: In-Flight Tech Etiquette

I book a flight to look out the window and be with family. I feel our etiquette as "world travelers" is going to the dogs!!1

As a business person I note the need to communicate with the "home office"; however, do it when you get to the airport!! or hotel!! Just look around the next time you are in the grocery store, shopping mall or a parking lot. Everyone has to talk to one another NOW!! Why not remember the task you need to get done NOW and then make that call when you have time to do so...

Let us stop being such go,go people. Look where it has gotten us...higher health risks, vandalism, killings. The roman times are upon us.
