RE: CSR-Washing is the New Greenwashing
CSR - Customer Service Representative - oops wrong industry (Banking). Whenever I hear or read "Green" in an advertisement I apply more than a "grain of salt" when attempting to ferret out the accuracy or efficacy of the message from the company. Like many charitable or not-for-profit organizations where only a small percentage of the proceeds actually go to the charity/mission; consumers need to apply common sense (NOT SO COMMON, Voltaire) when purchasing a product or applying loyalty. As in charities what you are buying may be in reality, very distant from what is reality. Claiming and being ???Green??? is attractive but much more expensive and not necessarily the best option (health, cost efficiency, and productivity). But that is another subject for a blog.

RE: CSR-Washing is the New Greenwashing
As I always do with all problems in business and life is try to find the root cause and find the solution to eliminate the root cause. In this case seems to me that CSR Washing is the effect of two ingredients combined:
1.- Poor management - corporations going for the mony regardless of what they have to do to make it.
2.- Poor Governments - All excesses of corporations in their home countries and abroad are the effect of corruption and irresponsible goverments who allow these bad practices, environmental, labor, etc.
All of us can contribute to eliminate the root cause, in the cases listed above, we can start by NOT buying their products, the day we stop buying all their goods, will be the day they will start taking positive actions towards eliminating these unethical and environmentally damaging practices.
Thanks for listing these companies more often, I suggest to make a CSR score that allows consumers to know where the companies we are buying from are today.
Thanks
