  I totally agree with your opinion of business plans and getting an audience
  with investors. My brother and I started a company during our MBA program
  and instead of focusing on getting capital from outside investors, we focused
  on testing the business and the website - now we have the most reggae,
  dancehall and soca videos on the web, strong relationships with artists like
  Sean Paul and still haven't gotten outside capital.
  
  All of this real-world testing has made it easier for us to get an audience with
  investors now to take it to the next level. We just had our first meetings with
  a VC and an angel.
  
  Lastly, I think it is important for people to realize that it can be done
  WITHOUT funding from VCs and Angels so don't preoccupy yourself with
  getting funded - get out there and start selling or promoting your products
  and services.
