RE: Video: Know When to Quit
Great Stuff! I've been in the dip knowing that quitting was not an option, and eventually won! I've also been of the right mindset when quitting was the only option and knew I was a winner.
Thanks Seth Godin!

just a tipp: it would help to see at once, how long the (any) video will last. So that one can decide to view it now (if it's short enough) or to delay.

RE: Video: Know When to Quit
Once again, typical MBA stuff i.e. what Seth is saying is logical and common sense. However, like Seth says, there are people who are ignorant to the realities that are staring them in the face and that are obvious to many. These people need to, not only read the book, but more importantly, execute its strategies type. Finally, after the dip there is the rise....... whoever stayed the course wins. Very difficult decision to call but if you stick to core strategies (Seth) you will win either way.

RE: Video: Know When to Quit
good stuff but sticking usually wins out in the end
get some objective advice and if the advice is to quit have a long hard look at yourself if not
keep on keeping on
outside advice is essential to help figure out if your on the right path
and sell strategically

RE: Video: Know When to Quit
I'm not sure that Abraham Lincoln would agree with Seth's analysis. If he didn't stay the course after so many public/private defeats he would never have become President of the U.S. Sure, we all can agree that it makes sense to focus, but many times we aren't sure what to focus on. The options today are so myriad and the pace of change so fast that the dip actually may be the next big opportunity.

RE: Video: Know When to Quit
Didn't your mother ever tell you not to quit? Quitting is good in some circumstances such as smoking, bitting your nails, and over eating. But in terms of business you can't quit. You just need to change your direction or your strategy. Dips are good because they let you focus on what you are doing wrong. It's simply a learning curve. Once you come out of it, you'll be re-energized.
