resigning with tact
In the case of constructive discharge, I do not think there is a tactful way to resign. Workplace Bullying is at an all time high and with no current laws in place a lot of "fedup" employees are heading for the door without stopping to leave a kind word. The deck is almost always stacked against the victim. Why shouldn't an employee who has been humiliated and bullied for years have a moment of sweet relief???
At some point the powers that be have to recognize Workplace Bullying as the crime that it actually is....this behaviors ruins lives, makes people physically and mentally ill and up until just recently these individuals were offered no validation for storming out the door in protest under duress. -

Resigned When Boss Threatens Retribution
An incident occurred at work when my boss lost control and began cursing at me. When I say cursing I mean using the ?Big F Word?. I wrote a very professional letter to him expressing my outrage and copied his boss who happened to be a vice-president on the correspondence. My boss when he saw that the vice-president had received the letter said, ?You will regret writing that letter?. The vice-president assured me that he would not tolerate this type of behavior. His cursing stopped when he was reprimanded and the office environment was brought in line.
When the vice-president left the company and my boss was given added authority. I found another company and resigned. On my exit interview I told the HR personal exactly why I resigned.
Was I wrong in telling all? -

RE: Handling Your Resignation with Style
I am having a very difficult time and would appreciate any help I can get. I came here last summer as a temp. The woman I replaced was a fabulous mentor. She was with me for 5 days. I was hired permanent in October. Within 30 days things went south. The reporting system here is wierd. There is an adminstrator, a doctor and an office manager. There is also an asst. administrator and finance mgr. The AA & finance mgr are happy with me. The staff is happy with me. At one point the doctor was very happy with me. However the woman who is the adminstrator was not. She kept writing me up; poor performance; unsatisfactory performance. So I resigned. The doctor wrote a glowing reference letter. I tried to work in the same company which is a world renown medical instituion. However this is following me like a bad stench. Constantly I am asked well if you love your job and the people why are you leaving? Why is it they could not work with you or help you? I used to have a good relationship with the office manager but there is some tension now. When I went on vacation she had issues with my going after it was approved by the doctor. Everyday my head bounces back and forth like a ball; should I ask for my job back?
