    GTD Works

I have been using GTD systematically for about 18 months now, and it has pretty much saved my life. I'm the absent-minded scientist type of person, with too many ideas, too many projects started, and never finished, etc. GTD lets me get stuff out of my head and into a trusted system that I maintain, and that frees up mental capacity to be creative and to make proactive choices about what I want to work on.

Getting started on GTD was tough, tougher than I thought from reading the books originally. It took a few weeks to really get it going. It's probably true that people who easily lose courage when trying something new will have problems with GTD. But if you have the kind of guts it takes to lose weight, go to the Gym, or learn a new language, you can do GTD and make it work.

In retrospect, I think it is a good idea to get a partner to do it with (friend, partner, even spouse). Connecting with other GTD practitioners online has also been helpful for me.

    Excellent Summary

As a reader of Allen's book and user of the GTD add-in for Outlook, I find your coverage of the GTD concept comprehensive, accurate, and balanced (as with anything, its no "magic bullet"). This is just the kind of concise coverage of an effective, relevant concept I hope to see at BNET.

    Thanks,

    Ted Briggs

    GTD

I am new at GTD, actually I've never heard about this before, and have been using these techniques for two weeks and the outcome is very good.

    New to GTD...love it!

Great summary on the system. I especially appreciate the section about Allen's personal history.

As a newcomer to GTD (the company I work for includes it as part of their training and adheres to it), I am already feeling the benefits of the system. I've even carried it over for personal use.

Just imagine how productivity would increase in the US if we were all GTD compliant?

    RE: Who Is David Allen?

    Hi.
Though even now I am a student, I've been unconsciously using it for my tasks at hand. It first started by writing on palm, which i re-wrote after it faded. hen it moved to some extent to paper, on and off. Now i have a PDA, where i list all the to-do things.
Acc to me, its the same as u plan in a business. U r planning for ur personal giving equal weightage to personal n professional commitments.
It works people.. it does, try it..
i dont forget 99% of my responsbilities.. this way..

    GTD Sounds Interesting...

I think I'm going to try this system out. It sounds like it could really increase my productivity.
