put up a mic and people will come up and speak

Well I think, with the systems in place and the grounds prepared, people do come up with ideas and express them too, this could be slow but definitely would serve the very purpose i.e. tempt people to come up and speak out.

It's just like, putting a mic up there on the stage and you would see people coming and saying something. it's human nature

If a tree falls in the forest...

Jenna, of course you make a good point - but then there's the flipside...what if the platform is full of good ideas - but no one is listening??

    Horizonal Rain...

The backbone of corporate success is inovative thinking as a team.
Ideas are thought processes derived to better improve products or services, as with horizonal rain in extreme winds, the push to succeed comes from the higher up's and were not talking mother nature. Nice story....

How to engage teams at all levels

The ability to effectively engage teams at all levels in targeted innovative thinking is the real key to success. The engagement needs to be focused on major areas that are of high importance to the business. The engagement needs to be real conversation between employees, their team, and their boss...not the good 'ol suggestion box.

There is a fantastic comic of how suggestion boxes are viewed and very specific tips on how to put a high engagement innovation approach in place...simply.

I SUGGEST THAT EACH DEPARTMENT HAVE A WEEKLY MEETING. THEN POST THEIR PROBLEMS ALONG WITH THEIR SOLUTIONS ON THE NOTICE BOARD LINKED TO THE E-MAIL FACILITY. COLLEGUES IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS WILL VIEW POSTING AND FORWARD THEIR COMMENTS.

RE: Management Secrets of Idea-Friendly Companies

Anybody out there use MindMapping, particularly software, as a tool to enhance meetings, workshops, or generally to enhance the thinking and creativity processes for individuals / teams? (Studying this currently as part of my work, thanks)
