Innovation
This is reflecting exactly my thinking. I was mentally preparing an article on this topic & surprisingly everything I want write is here.
In most of the big organizations, the WOW ideas land in wrong hands of the immediate supervisor / manager & gets killed in.
Management should encourage idea generations for real break through innovations & to sustain in the industry. -

Ideas are invaluable...precious gems
Thanks for this rich information! It pleasantly reminders readers to create an environment which welcomes stakeholders to share their ideas. Ideas can empower a firm or an individual to advance beyond their original vision. Ideas...are invaluable. Ideas are like precious gems- each new idea is beautiful and distinct.
This article has encouraged me to keep on birthing and nurturing ideas... you never know how your ideas can change your work environment.

Very good.
I still haven't read one bad article on this site and so far this one is the best. A few obvious things were pointed out that you don't realize until someone points it out.

10 Personas?
Guys, the article is very insightful, but sometimes you omit critical pieces of info. For example, the title of the book you refer to implies that there must be another Very Important Persona like the Devil's Advocate. Correct me if I am wrong, but I could not find that VIP on the list of 10 team roles. Stan

Idea generation need flexibility
Many companies especially public-owned large companies in developing countries need to exercise flexibility of top managers ,as my own experiences , I found that independent technocrats are much better than political-appointed managers to create flexible environment in above mentioned companies ,but in private companies it is different that need flexibility of two side, in one side we have major share holders and in other side company top managers, in companies like Microsoft it seems that we had above factors,
Smaller companies are more flexible than large companies, it motivates the larger's managers establish small branches to make innovative idea generating environments -

New Ideas
This is a very useful resource material assisting in structuring thoughts on how ideas are the primary precursor of value creation.
I have found this article helpful in designing learning materials on intrapreneurship management. -

Re: 10 Personas?
Good question; thanks for asking us to clarify. In his book, Kelley suggests that the devil's advocate is a dangerous persona who kills ideas. That's why his book is subtitled "Strategies for *Beating* the Devil's Advocate." Kelley encourages businesses to embrace his 10 personas as an alternative to the devil's advocate role, which he would like to eliminate from the business culture entirely. Hope that answers your question.

How to nurture new ideas
Very good article.
However may I suggest that firms be also encouraged to nurture and set in place mechanisms to handle new ideas from outside their organisation. I have been trying to break down this barrier for some time without much success and most organisations need help in this area also. -

Involve leaders at all levels
This is a great article. It does seem to focus a lot on special innovation teams. You can also generate breakthrough ideas from people in the core operations, sales, call centers or any customer facing operation as well. There is a good overview of developing this capability in this blog post from the authors of BIG Ideas to BIG Results.
