Microsoft is updating its Xbox 360 system to bring Sky TV to UK subscribers via the Xbox Live service. Users will now have access to 24 channels of live content in addition to Sky's existing library of channels. They will also be able to use an interactive feature that allows them to invite friends to watch programmes simultaneously.
The service will only be available to Xbox Live Gold users, who already pay USD98 per month to access Microsoft games. Xbox Live subscribers who also subscribe to Sky will be offered the chance to access content on-demand via their Xbox at a later date.
The joint venture is set to relaunch after its initial release was encumbered by technical difficulties.
