French technology firm Dassault Syst?s is buying part of IBM’s sales and customer support unit for USD600m. Dassault says it expects to close the deal by the second quarter of next year.

Dassault specialises in marketing software for managing product lifecycles. IBM’s unit already supports and sells the software. Dassault’s technology is used in car and aircraft design.
