BMC Software is to buy startup Tideway Systems, which makes software for tracking and analysing IT components. The firms have yet to reveal terms of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of the week.
Tideway, which was founded in 2002, has previously raised USD37.5m from investors including Scottish Equity Partners, Accel Partners and Apax Partners. Its software, which will be integrated into BMC's business service management platform, is designed to help companies save money by detecting inefficiencies in IT networks.
