Nokia is set to launch a smartphone with voice recognition capabilities that will let users make calls, write text messages and send emails by speaking the commands. The N97 Mini will be the first phone from Nokia to come with the function as standard, thanks to a pre-installed app from startup Vlingo. The move follows Microsoft's recent introduction of voice control technology for Samsung's Intrepid smartphone.
Vlingo recently teamed up with AT&T to improve voice recognition technologies. Vlingo's app is already available for download for the BlackBerry, iPhone and Nokia handsets.
