Intel is investing USD500,000 in on-demand gaming company TransGaming to support the development of a system for playing games on TV sets.

TransGaming specialises in porting PC games to Macs and Linux-based machines. However, the firm is working on technology that uses Intel chip architecture to allow users to load up a wide range of games on their TV without an external device.

Intel says it will integrate the ?system on a chip? architecture used by TransGaming into HDTV sets currently in development.
