DivX has signed deals with Hollywood studios Paramount and Lionsgate to enable online retailers worldwide to offer their films in the DivX video format. The company announced similar deals with Sony Pictures and Warner Bros in 2008. DivX’s digital rights management (DRM) system allows consumers to access downloaded movies on compatible DVD players, set-top boxes, TV sets and mobile phones. The company is working with online stores in the US and Europe to make DivX movies available to consumers.
