US-based iControl Networks, provider of IP-based home security services, has raised USD23m in funding from Cisco, Comcast Interactive Capital, GE Security and Tyco International’s ADT Security Services. Existing investors Charles River Ventures, Intel Capital and the Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers iFund also participated.
iControl will offer consumers a broadband-based home security service that will leverage IP-based security cameras, sensors and door locks, connected to a broadband router. The service will notify and alert users through their mobile phones.
