Warner Brothers Entertainment is bidding USD33m for Mortal Kombat developer Midway Games. A court-supervised ?stalking horse? agreement between bankrupt Midway and Warner could see Warner take control of the developer’s business and assets. Warner would acquire studios in Chicago and Seattle in the deal, but would not take over Midway’s studios in San Diego or its UK outpost in Newcastle.
Struggling Midway was forced to file for bankruptcy after media mogul Sumner Redstone sold his majority stake in the company, leaving it unable to meet its debt commitments.
