Security giant McAfee is buying banking and retail software firm Solidcore Systems for USD33m. Solidcore Systems protects some 200,000 endpoints such as point-of-sales systems, printers, ATMs and other embedded devices.

The purchase will give McAfee access to the embedded devices market. The company says that the combination of SolidCore Systems’ capabilities with its own compliance mapping and policy auditing will provide clients with an end-to-end compliance solution.
