IBM is acquiring database specialist Exeros for an undisclosed amount. California-based Exeros develops software that retrieves and organises data from multiple databases.

IBM has completed 16 acquisitions in the past 16 months, most of them related to the business intelligence market. In 2008, the firm bought business intelligence specialist Cognos for USD5bn.
