Virgin Media is adopting Google’s Gmail as its new email service provider, abandoning the email system it has used since the company was split between NTL and Telewest. Its 4m broadband subscribers will be offered 7GB of online storage and an @virginmedia.com address, as well as traditional features available to Gmail users.
The partnership may extend later to Google Docs products and services, which could allow users to write, edit and share documents.
