Application delivery company Radware is paying Nortel USD18m to acquire its Alteon range of application delivery switches, which Nortel bought in 2000 for USD7bn in stock. Nortel is selling Alteon at 0.2% of its purchase value.

Nortel sells IP communication hardware and software to businesses. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month. In an attempt to stay afloat, it is selling some of its assets, after abandoning its WiMAX business. Nortel competes with Radware, Cisco and F5 Networks.
