IBM is partnering with Cisco-rival Juniper Networks in a bid to gain cloud computing market share. The partners are developing technology that will allow businesses to extend private clouds to remote servers simply by clicking a button. This means that companies can easily switch from private to secure public clouds when resources are constrained.
IBM has already heavily invested in its cloud computing unit, Blue Cloud Initiatives. Elizabeth Arden, Nexxara, the US Golf Association and Indigo Bio Systems are all using IBM's services to add cloud computing to their IT infrastructures.
