PC-builder Lenovo has aquired secretive startup Switchbox Labs for an undisclosed sum. The co-founder of the Seattle-based company is former Windows marketing VP Michael Sievert, fuelling speculation about the tight-lipped company’s activities. So far Switchbox Labs has only indicated a focus on developing ?new consumer technologies?.

Lenovo has named Sievert SVP, leading some analysts to suggest that securing his services was the overall goal of the acquisition. Co-founders Robert Dickinson and Blake Ramsdell will also join the North Carolina-based company.

?Innovation is the lifeblood of our company,? says Lenovo's CEO William Amelio. ?Switchbox Labs is doing some interesting work and we are pleased that Switchbox and Mike are joining Lenovo.?
