Film and TV studio, Lionsgate, has agreed to buy cable TV channel TV Guide Network and its online property TVGuide.com for USD255m. In agreeing the deal, current owner Macrovision cancels an arrangement to sell the asset to Allen Shapiro and One Equity Partners.

"This fits extremely well with our strategy of combining content creation, distribution and direct access to the consumer," says Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.
