Movie download service CinemaNow will come preinstalled on web-connected devices as the service partners with Best Buy. The electronics retailer is licensing the Sonic Solutions-owned service to come included with devices such as DVD players, Blu-ray players, portable DVD devices, set-top boxes and flat-panel TVs. Best Buy is paying Sonic to use its software in the devices and is also seeking warrants to buy an ownership stake in Sonic.

?We think that consumers want to buy or rent movies directly from their consumer electronics devices. This sets up an important new business model. The value of Best Buy as a partner is they can mandate it,? says Sonic Solutions CEO David Habiger.
