Web apps management firm Engine Yard has raised USD19m in a third funding round from investors including DAG Partners, Bay Partners, Presidio Ventures, Benchmark Capital, Amazon.com and New Enterprise Associates. The round brings the total funding raised by the company to more than USD37m. The company says it will use the new capital to fund the development of its Engine Yard Cloud and for future investment in other open source projects. The company provides technologies and services on a cloud-based platform for users developing Ruby-on-Rails apps. A web monitoring service for Ruby on Rails, FiveRuns, was acquired by startup WorkThink in September 2009.
