Amazon's audiobook subsidiary, Audible, is partnering with US publisher Bonnier, to promote children's audiobooks. The deal will see cross-promotion between Bonnier's Parenting magazine and the audiobook firm's AudibleKids.com section.
Through the deal, AudibleKids.com will have a Parenting-branded section on the site, with recommendations and listening lists prepared by Parenting editors. AudibleKids' download store will also feature Parenting branding. In return, Parenting will promote AudibleKids on its website, in its magazine, and in its Back to School guide.
Online retail giant Amazon agreed to buy Audible for USD300m in cash and short-term investments in January this year. Audible currently has more than 50,000 audio titles from more than 470 content providers, including publishers, broadcasters, magazines and newspapers. Bonnier is a US-based consumer publisher with more than 40 magazines titles and websites, including sport titles SKI, Yatching and TransWorld Surf. The company employs 1,100 employees and makes USD350 in annual revenue.
