Joost Labs is launching a new version of its web TV service for the PS3, making its service accessible on TV sets via the console. However, users will be unable to access content from Viacom, Warner Bros or CBS.

Joost is one of a number of companies aiming to put internet video on home TV sets. However, though studios and networks are keen to put their content online, it appears they don’t want customers to be able to bypass their normal TVs. Hulu’s recently released desktop app comes with the express instructions that it mustn’t be used on anything other than a PC.
