Time Warner buys into Central European TV

Time Warner is purchasing a 31% stake in TV group Central European Media Enterprises (CME) for USD241.5m. The companies are forming a partnership to broadcast Warner Brothers channels in countries such as Croatia and Bulgaria, where CME has a presence.

Warner will receive two seats on CME’s board, but has promised its voting rights to CME founder and non-executive chairman Ron Lander for the next four years.
