Arizona-based Southwest Windpower has raised USD10m in funding from GE Energy Financial Services and existing investors Altira, Rockport Capital Partners, NGP Energy Technology Partners and CTTV Investments. The company manufactures small-scale wind turbines with capacities of up to 3kW. Southwest plans to use the funding to develop new turbine products.

?This new capital funding will allow us to expand our markets, helping to bring cost-effective small wind energy to new residential, commercial, and off-grid customers? says Frank Greco, Southwest CEO.

The company was founded in 1987 by David Calley and Andy Kruse.
