Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas and Washington-based Boeing plan to collaborate on research projects that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, pollution and waste. The pair share expertise in a number of areas, such as aerodynamics and materials science, and have identified a number of potential projects which include research into the recycling of new composite materials.

?There is a strong correlation between new technologies needed in the aerospace industry and new technologies needed in the wind energy business, and by pooling our research and development efforts on specific projects both Boeing and Vestas will benefit, as well as the environment we live in? says Boeing’s Jan Narlinge.

Vestas Technology R&D and Boeing Research & Technology will carry out the research in Europe and the US.
