US-based communications equipment firm Harris is paying USD675m to acquire the wireless systems unit of Tyco Electronics. Harris hopes to increase sales of multiband mobile radio technology by among Tyco’s US customer base. Multiband radio enables users to communicate and transmit data and photos with each other.
