Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific and subsidiary Dragonair are buying 20,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions reductions from JPMorgan Climate Care. The carbon offsets, which will be sold under the airlines’ FLY greener offset programme, are from three Chinese projects including a run-of-river hydroelectric power plant in Guizhou and a wind farm in Heilongjiang.

Cathay Pacific says between 2007 and March of this year, 30,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions were offset through the FLY greener programme.
