UK-based Foresight Group is paying an undisclosed sum to acquire a solar farm from Banco Santander. The photovoltaic facility, located in the region of Castilla La Mancha in Spain, was developed by BP Solar last year and has a capacity of 9MW. Foresight has two 10MW solar projects under development in Italy.

?This acquisition has expanded our portfolio of European solar investments, doubling our current capacity and building our presence in the highly attractive Spanish secondaries market? says Foresight’s Jamie Richards.

Foresight launched its first European Solar Fund in November having raised EUR40m (USD54.5m). The Castilla La Mancha plant will be operated and maintained by BP.
