Games developer Gazillion has reached a 10-year agreement with Marvel Entertainment to develop massive multiplayer games based on Marvel’s characters. Marvel already has partnerships with other games publishers for handheld, console and single-player video games based on its intellectual properties.
Gazillion is backed by Allen & Co and Oak Investment. The company specialises in online gaming and is developing Lego Universe for Lego Group, where users will be able to build Lego structures. The market for online multiplayer games is expected to reach USD11.8bn in revenues in 2013, according to DFC Intelligence.
