Pearson allies with Livemocha for language learning

US-based online language-learning site Livemocha and print publisher Pearson are allying to create online conversational English courses, combining Pearson's content with Livemocha's collaborative approach to language learning.

Pearson and Livemocha will jointly invest in the new products and share the revenues. The firms are not disclosing pricing details. Livemocha provides free, basic language lessons, connecting learners with native speakers in 12 languages. The firm claims a 2m-strong user base.
