Mobile makers turn to nav services

Swedish company Ericsson is the latest to focus on navigation services by entering partnership with California-based Networks in Motion.

?If it's all done through the device, with built-in mapping software, then the operator is cut out of the deal," says Charles Golvin, a telecom analyst with Forrester Research speaking to the Wall Street Journal.

"This could be an effective strategy, since Ericsson and NIM are enabling operators to get a piece of the action.?
